G'day everyone, again sorry for the delay, I have had some good things going on and some bad things going on over the past few weeks and getting on here to do my journal has been difficult. I will start with my fun times I had. You are probably wondering who that man is I am standing with, well that's my mate Karl Stefanovic from the TODAY show channel 9. And why am I standing with him, well the today show crew are my mates (especially Steve Jacobs) who does the weather, and the crew were all in Melbourne for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and Steve invited me along to read the weather with him and have some fun with the rest of the gang. The weather in Melbourne now is fantastic, we are back to HOT weather of 37 - 38 degree Celsius temperatures which my darsly mum loves. The Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne was great, the weather was fantastic and Melbourne just comes alive with activity. There have been lots of fun things I have been doing over the past weeks but also I have been struck down with the nose bleeds and headaches which I will explain further down the page.
While at the Today show - Ricki-Lee Coulter came along to sing some songs off her new Album, she has lots of time for everyone and is so sweet. She was one of our Australian Idol contestants, although she did not win, she has become more successful than the actual winner. You must buy her new album it is so great & she has the most amazing voice.

What a picture this one is - this is Karl Stefanovic me JAY and Cameron Williams who is the sports reporter on the today show and we are the three amigo's (lol). These two together are so funny, they are both great guys who always have time for me when they come to Melbourne.
Of course Darlsy mum did not want to miss out so this is Darsly mum Cameron Williams and me, and this was around 6am in the morning because that is when the today show starts 6am so we had to get into the city early.
Now this is lovely Lisa Wilkinson she presents on the today show with Karl Stefanovic they are the leading today show presenters. Lisa is so nice and is always smiling.

JAY presenting the Weather LIVE on National TV

I was so nervous, I had to present the Weather LIVE on National TV, but my mate Steven Jacobs who is the real weather presenter he made me feel a lot better. I was given a sheet 5 minutes before with all the up to date weather details for around the nation and New Zealand, I quickly read over it and next minute that red light was on and I could not turn back.

Steven Jacobs he is reading first, he had to introduce me and tell people who I was and next thing I new the camera man was in my face, that red light was looking at me and I was Live all around Australia and all of a sudden I did not feel nervous at all.

So cool, Steven Jacobs giving me a high five and congratulating me on the best weather report. Steve said he was scared I might take his job away from him that was how good I read the weather. It is such a cool job, I would not mind his job at all, he gets to go not only all around Australia but all around the world, so I would not mind his job. (Watch out Steve) .

Me and my best mate Steven Jacobs the best weather man in Australia, and look Steve, I am taller than you now (lol). Steve is not exactly tall by the way.

Me and Lisa Wilkinson again, this was on the first day we went in to see the gang, I got to go on two day's that is why you will see I am wearing different shirt in some of the photo's.

We had a couple of drops of rain early in the morning that is why the Umbrella is up.This is a cool shot of me, darsly mum and Steven Jacobs, even my darsly mum is tall than him (lol).

Now this is a great photo - this is Darsly mum Georgie Gardner me Jay and Steven Jacobs. The wonderful Georgie Gardner she is the News reporter on the today show, she presents the news around the nation and is such a nice person. All the gang from the today show are the coolest.

This is Darlsy mum (looking great) Cameron Williams and me. Cameron Williams is a knowledge of sport, he knows everything about all sports (I suppose that is why he is a sports presenter). Cam just got chosen to represent Australia in the World Elephant Polo Games - so funny, he will do anything..

Now, all of you in America should know who this man is - OH my god its' Richard Reid the Hollywood gossip king. Richard Reid came to Australia for the Melbourne Cup carnival and it was so great to meet him. We see him on the today show via Hollywood every morning but I did not ever think I would ever be standing next to him. He is so cool, so funny and the nicest man ever and had so much time for me and darsly and of course darsly mum was not going to miss out - she loves him.

Richard Reid and Darsly mum and me Jay. My darsly mum loves him, she gave him a big kiss then he kissed her back and then lots of hugs, we just could not believe we were standing side by side with this man (it was so exciting) . Darsly mum did not want to let him go.

This was the ultimate standing next to Hollywood gossip king Richard Reid who just loved being in Australia. He was so funny trying to say all the Aussie Slang, he was giving it a go, but it didn't sound right because he is American (lol) but he tried. He was having so much fun out her in Australia and he didn't want to go home. It was wonderful having him out here and he is invited back any time.

"CAMP QUALITY"

It was time for "CAMP QUALITY" fun, it was the end of year Christmas Party and we had lots of great fun and laughs. It was a very HOT day 37 degrees. This photo above, how cool hey, I made that balloon hat, it is an original, took alot of huffing and puffing to blow the balloons up but eventually got there and made my hat.

Darlsy mum - ROB MILLS - Jay

This is another wonderful singer we have here in Australia and a wonderful person who gives his time to kids with cancer, this is Rob Mills another one of our Australian Idols, who did not win, but became successful after Idol. Rob Mills came along to the "CAMP QUALITY" Christmas party on the weekend and sang up a storm, thanks Rob.

This is Rob Mills in the middle, Shaun, and me Jay. Shaun use to be my companion on Camps when I was little, funny, now I am taller than Shaun. Shaun has been a camp quality volunteer for many years and he knows what it is like to battle cancer, because he has battled it himself. He is very funny and a great friend.

There was lots to do at the Christmas party, including Harley Davidson rides, it was so cool, we went so fast.

This is Shaun and me, the place we went to for the Christmas party had a miniature railway where you could go for rides, so Shaun and I went on the train over and over and over and had lots of great fun.

This is one of the minature trains we went on, there were four in total, one was a steam train which was cool, it blew lots of smoke. This one is a VLINE.

AT THE SPECIALIST

Well, I hate coming here, you can see by the look on my face. Why am I here and where am I. Well I am at the EAR, NOSE, THROAT specialist Mr.Bucchanan. My nose has not stopped bleeding, it went for 5 days straight, at school, at home, out, anywhere, it just would not stop bleeding. I would be just sitting on the couch and it starts to bleed, so off to the specialist to see what to do. He put that rotten stuff up my nose, yuk, hate it, then looked up, then had to have a small camera go through my nose so he could see into my throat, double yuk. I have already had my Adenoids out a long time ago and when I did, the nose bleed started a week later, but he say's I have to have them out again (because they do grow back), but don't believe it is the cause of the nose bleeds (we will see), so I have to have the Adenoids taken out again, not sure when because I have now been put on a waiting list - nothing unusual for this stupid health system we have here. I have been sick with the severe Headaches, the nose bleeds but still not one doctor can give me an answer as to what the cause is (I think they are all just guessing) and hope it will go away. The headaches are concerning as I have heard many bad things about kids & adults getting headaches, one in particular the doctor just brushed the headaches aside, as they are doing for me and the next day this boy died because he had a brain hemorrage. GRRRRR doctors, you have to start listening, I am the one who has to put up with these annoying painful headaches and nose bleeds.

Other Health Stuff

Still toughing it out with doctors here - it is rediculous that my darsly mum still has to bang her head against a brick wall because of this health system out here. The reality is I have a MASS sitting on my Spinal Cord and the doctors don't have to live with it "I DO" but they will still not do anything about it. I have the positive attitude and believe this thing will never get me, and it will sit there the rest of my life and not annoy me - but reality is that it may not. I would like everyone to try and imagine what it would be like to walk around with a bomb attached to you - well that is what it is like for me - a ticking time bomb which could explode anytime, any day & doctors refuse to do anything. WHAT are they going to do if it does explode (will they appologise) I really don't think so. My darsly mum is tough just like me and she will not give up and will keep pushing for something to be done, and also for something to be done about my headaches and nose bleeds. Do these doctors need you to be on a death bed before they will listen - that is where I was when first diagnosed, I don't want to be there again.

Our Health Minister

While Darlsy and I were at the TODAY show, our silly health minister for Australia Tony Abbott Health Minister was also there doing an interview, so my darsly mum said to me, "As soon as that little weasel gets up stand in his way because I have something to say to him" - well true to word because my darsly mum is fed up with the health system here (along with millions of others) darsly stood right in his way - she would not let him go left or right and just EYE BALLED him and he was scared. Mr. Abbott speaks with alot of um's and ar's (mainly because he has not a clue about anything) well darsly eye balled him and said "When are you going to get off your butt and fund the protocol for Neuroblastoma out here in Australia so people like me with a Childs with Neuroblastoma can save our kids lives - I don't have the money to send my son overseas, and neither do other families and our kids are dying because you put millions of dollars into petty uneccessary things instead of saving our kids lives" - Well he just stutted and umed and ared and then came out with - "OH that is in the hands of the local Government" - well darsly cracked it and said - you fool - you are the Government and you are the head of Health, it is your call - he kept stuttering, darsly was not going to let him go, she had him backed into a corner and his minders were trying to get him away. Darsly then said to him - You have no idea what Neuroblastoma is do you???? and he could not answer and then he walked away. Well everyone here in Australia with kids battling Neuroblastoma, even your so called head HEATH MINISTER doesn't even know what Neuroblastoma is and will not do anything to find out or get the protocol out here, so all I can say is DONT' VOTE FOR HIM in this weekends federal election because if you do the Health system is going to get even worse and more kids are going to die. Mr Abbott it is about time you started to look in your own back yard and look at how many little innocent lives are being taken by this horrible cancer NEUROBLASTOMA and it is time you did a bit of research and found out about what it is mate - you don't get my vote and you certainly don't get my darsly mums vote, and you need to get some manners because you were very rude and you even pushed me to the side & I am the kid with Neuroblastoma. I don't get angry very often, but if you had been there you would have got angry too. Our health system here has been sufferring for a very long time under Mr. Abbott and it is getting worse each and every day.

LIFE

I'm lucky enough to still be on this earth and believe that living life to the full is how things should be. There are days' I feel so sick, with headaches, nose bleeds, leg pain, but I stay strong and get on with life and make the most of each day I have. All my little friends out there, the battle with cancer is not easy, I know that, and there are day's you just don't want to do anything, but I do know you can find strength inside to smile, laugh and to have a little fun. Having cancer should not stop your life, the word cancer is just a word, I find alot of people stop their lives as soon as they hear that dreaded word cancer, it should not be that way, don't let it defeat you, don't let it stop you from living each day to the full. I believe you can do anything in life, just get out there and do it. I do the things I do because I can and I will not let anyone tell me I can't. I know over the past few weeks I have lost a few more of my NB friends, but you know what, they lived life to the full till the end and that is how it should be. I can't answer the question of why some of us live and some of us die, I wish I could, but just because a child does lose the battle doesn't mean they gave up - they didn't. Life is funny, life is something we can't predict what is going to happen, I do know though that we are all here for a short time - not a long time and we should all make the most of it while we can and treasure every moment. I hope all my wonderful friends out there have been doing great, I am sorry I have not been around to visit, but it has been difficult the past few weeks, to ge to visit. I think of you all each and every day and I know you think of me as well. . I must go now, remember to always have a SMILE ON THE DILE and Never Give up, because giving up is not an option..
