2008

G'DAY to all my supporters & wonderful friends. It's been a few weeks since I update, sorry about that again, but it has been difficult to get onto the computer as I have had lots of things happening and trying to complete school for the year. CAN you believe it, I have completed year 7 & on my way to year 8 in 2008. School is now finished for 2007, we are on our summer break for the next 8 weeks, the weather is really HOT, so there will be lots of beach visits over the summer break. I have done really well at school this year, I am very proud of myself & so is darlsy mum. I have achieved A's in most subjects, maths being my best subject and also more of an achievement because I am only in year 7 and I have been doing year 9 work because I find the year 7 work a bit too easy. I received many certificates of Achievement through out the year and was presented with the PRINCIPALS award in recognition for all the work I did.

We are yet again at the end of another year, one that Darsly & I wish to put behind us, it has been a real tough year. All of you out there don't see all the behind the scene stuff (that of a cancer child) but I can tell you it has been a year we just wish to put behind us and hope that 2008 will be a better year. All of us cancer kids love to be kids, have fun & smile and try to get on with a normal life, but as I always say WHAT IS NORMAL, we never have a normal life, when we get to do all the fun things we do, that is because all of us deserve it (there is not one cancer child out there more special than the other) we are all special, we all go through the rough, the tough, the struggles, the battles. I never consider myself to be any more special than the next kid (even kids without cancer), yes we have an illness but we have to be aloud to do the things kids do (my darsly always has treated me no different than the next kid), of course I am a kid, I am going to crash my bike and hurt myself, I am going to fall down and hurt myself, that's life and she said wrapping a kid up in Cotton wool is the worst thing you can do) let kids be kids even if they do have cancer. I have split my eye open and nearly lost my eye and had 17 stitches on the inside & 12 on the out side, I was being a kid and accidents happen, I have gone over the top of my handle bars on my bike and smashed my face real bad (photo's my darsly mum has) but again I was being a kid and accidents do happen. Just because us kids have cancer doesn't mean our lives have to stop, we are still kids and playing footy, riding a bike, riding roller blades, riding skate board, riding my motorbike is all part of being a kid. Please let 2008 be a great one for all of us cancer kids and believe in yourself and what you are able to achieve even though you do have cancer. Tell your parents to stop being so protective and allow you to live your life to the full and each and everyday as a kid. I think our parents worry more than we do, we are the one's with cancer, we know what we can and can't do - but as I said, my darsly mum has always aloud me to do everything, normal kids do because she believes and I believe I am no different from any other kid, I just have been given a challenge to fight a bit harder for my life, but it doesn't stop me from achieving everything I put my mind to. I know where I am headed in the future, I will be the greatest PILOT & AERONAUTICAL engineer ever and I am striving towards that goal and I will achieve it. There are three scholarships I am striving for as well, and if I always keep positive I know I will achieve in getting those scholarships to help towards me being a pilot.
We have had some very HOT days here down under in Melbourne, so it was off to the beach, a place that darsly mum and I love to go. We went into St.Kilda beach on this very hot 35 degree day & I had fun on my boogie board in the water, went for walks along the foreshore and tried to keep cool under the palm tree.
Darlsy mum didn't know I took this shot (lol) she is trying to find the only shady spot there is and that's under the palm tree.

Me & my mate Shannon Noll

My best mate SHANNON NOLL came to visit - as you all know, Shannon is a great singer and my mate & the song which is on my website (Lift) that is Shannon singing. I was so surprised when my mate Shannon came to Melbourne & he invited me to not only his concert but to also hang out & watch his rehearsals before the concert. He is such a funny guy, he makes me laugh so much.
Shannon spent lots of time with me, he signed all my photo's from last time & asked me how the drum kits was going. I told him I play them everyday and I could not believe that he brought them for me. I thanked him once again for the drum kit, and being the person Shannon is, he just said NO WORRIES MATE, anything I can do for you at all just let me know.
Shannon came straight up to darlsy mum and gave her a big kiss and a hug and said it is so good to see you, thanks for coming. Of course darsly was not going to let him go without a photo - she thinks he is so gorgeous (lol)
The above photo is during the concert, Shannon gave us front row seats and during each song e came up to me and in particular this song he sang to me - the song he is singing here is LIFT, the song on my website and he came and sang it to me. Please NOTE SHANNON has on my wrist band on his right wrist. He asked for some more bands and he put them straight on his wrist.

SHANNON really pumping out the songs - it was so cool finally getting to see him live in concert and he did his first concert in Melbourne - he chose Melbourne for the first concert back after being overseas for a while. It was great being right up the front and it was so LOUD.
During the concert SHANNON told alot of jokes, he should have been a comedian, he is so very funny & a true blue Aussie guy. Above is the last song & all the crowd wanted more and more. I had the best time with Shannon and I thank him so much for always thinking of me. Shannon never forgets, that is the best thing about Shannon, he always keeps in contact and watches out for me.

Well it is only a short journal this time and my last for the year 2007, I thank everyone who has been in my life over the past year, even though it has been a tough one we made it through another that is the main thing and we are hoping for bigger and better and healthier 2008. What made my year was Shannon, the end to year 2007 was the best because of Shannon Noll. PLEASE take care everyone, to all my many cancer friends and families out there, I think of you everyday and I want you all to KEEP A BIG SMILE ON THE DILE (FACE) stay strong and positive always and the main thing is YOU NEVER GIVE UP, giving up is not an option and remember that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

SEE YOU ALL IN 2008
